Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was a natural athlete and found her passion for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed in second place in the 200 meters during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix graduated from high school having signed a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic prize at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s which set a new junior world record. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. In 2007, she won the title by beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top 3 across her diverse events in the Olympics held in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
