Gugulethu Sofia Mbatha more popular under her stage and screen name Gugu Mbatha Raw. She became popular due to her appearance in the BBC television series of science fiction called Doctor Who. Handler was blessed with a joyful, healthy childhood in a good neighbourhood. Handler moved from the city of her birth to Los Angeles when she was 19, in order to pursue a career in acting. Handler started acting to earn income. Handler began performing stand-up comedy full-time after she reached the age of 21. She realized she is gifted at telling stories. Handler's career began as part of an all-female Oxygen TV show in the hidden camera/practical humor reality show Girls Behaving Unsteadily. This reality TV show ran from 2002 until 2005. The handler went on to work in various other shows, including Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show My Wife and Kids, The Practice The Practice, and Weekends at D.L. Handler started working for The Tonight Show as a correspondent. Handler made her breakthrough in 2006, as she became the host of E! The Chelsea Handler Program. The show lasted 2 seasons. Handler then performed in America in the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend and HBO have shown Handler's stand-up shows. The show was announced to host the The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in 2010. It made her the 2nd women in history, behind Roseanne Barr, to host the VMAs.
